  • Punset (Marina Marcarino)

The Punset estate has been in the Marcarino family for over a century, and for the past 30 years the vineyards and winemaking have been managed by Marina Marcarino, one of only a few female winemakers in Piemonte. She believes she was destined for this work after growing up on the family farm and connecting with the earth as a young child with her grandmother. This connection inspired her to convert the vineyards to organic farming in 1987 and persevere as one of the first female winemakers in the region. Her vineyard decisions are mirrored in the cellar where simplicity is most important. Organically grown grapes.

    100% Barbera
Located on same hill as Barbaresco. Limestone and iron rich soils. | Hand harvested | Fermentation in concrete
The Barbera has aromas of red berries, cherry and violet which follow on the palate. A lively and fresh wine with pleasant acidity and soft texture that would make it an excellent accompaniment to pizza, charcuterie and polenta with fontina.
